They were very easy to set up. It was pretty much plug in and go (well the parent unit had to be charged for 14 hours before use but other than that were easy as anything). They were pretty self explanatory to use – the buttons all had a picture to represent their use so you didn’t really need to use the instruction manual at all.

The sound quality on them is superb to the point that I could actually hear Jessica breathing over them. They also had a few extras that I loved. The built-in nightlight on the parents unit and five lullabies that can be played individually or all on a loop are excellent additional features that we got a lot of use from. And the best thing is that these features can be started from the parent unit downstairs.

They also have a temperature gauge so you can make sure the room isn’t too hot with a vibrate setting if you want the volume turned down.

We were most impressed by the fact that the parent unit had talk back facility so you can talk to your baby when not in the room. My older son’s loved this because they can talk to me when I am upstairs and they are keen to use them as walkie talkies when the baby is older!

I think these monitors are worth every penny for the reassurance they provide to the parent’s knowing that you would be able to hear the baby make the slightest sound. All in all I would say I can’t fault these monitors and would recommend them to anyone.

You don’t want to be broadcasting the nursery’s activities to the neighborhood so you need a monitor with privacy features and is only operating at the strength needed for your circumstances. Alternate channels and wireless Internet filters help keep your signal secure.

Digital baby monitors have so many features you need to shop wisely. There are a multitude of different styles and options. Educating oneself can not only save the expense of buying the wrong type of monitor but will help you to get the type of features best suited for your particular situation.

If your baby has special needs there are everything from room temperature monitors to the temperature of the baby itself.

The video of course is most desirable but your budget may only allow the purchase of an audio monitor. Quite often the Grand parents are most eager to help in the purchase of such an important device. It is most likely they will be spending a lot of time at your place now that you have a baby. They will need to be familiar with your monitoring device and how to use it to its maximum efficiency.

There are portable monitor receivers that you can wear, along with units that broadcast directly into your existing television set. Extra cameras are also available along with monitor screens for different rooms in your flat. The size of your home should determine how many and what type of monitors you should purchase.

Of course one wants to keep close personnel contact with the nursery, but a monitor helps when you are trying to go about your daily tasks before the little one wakes up. Unless one employees a Nanny it is not possible to be with your baby every minute that it is sleeping.

Having multiple monitors or wearing a portable unit allows you to quickly come to your baby’s call no matter what part of the house you are in. Being able to see them peacefully sleeping while you are preparing tea is quite reassuring.

Some Digital baby monitors operate completely on batteries. In the case of a power outage this is a particularly important feature to have included in your baby monitoring system. Don’t forget to have some emergency back up lighting also.

Another option to research is called the talk back feature. This allows you to communicate to your little one that you are on the way or that they are not alone.

Others have the option to play prerecorded tunes or music you can select from your existing devices. The baby can even listen to you singing while going about your chores.

Digital baby monitors are a valuable tool. They can help you keep your baby happy and safe.
